New Vivekananda Hardware

New Vivekananda Hardware is located at 444 Jessore Road in Satgachi. We are right between the Satgachi and Amar Palli bus stops in the Dum Dum area. It is a very busy street, and there is always the sound of horns and engines outside. Our shop is packed from floor to ceiling with all kinds of tools and building supplies. We spend a lot of time on ladders reaching for things people need. It gets a bit dusty with the bags of cement and the metal parts, but that's just part of the job. People often stop in while they are waiting for their bus or walking back from Nager Bazar. We know most of the people who live around here. The shop is not very large, but we make use of every inch of space. Sometimes it takes us a moment to find a specific size of screw, but we usually have it somewhere in a bin. The concrete floor has some marks from where we've dropped heavy things over the years. We keep a small radio playing near the counter. It is a very practical place to work. We don't have any fancy decorations or bright lights. We just stock the things people need for their houses. When it rains, we have to move the outdoor stuff inside really fast. It keeps us on our toes. We like being a part of this neighborhood.
