Our shop is Curio Cottage, located at F-40-41 in the New Market area. It is a bit of a maze inside because we have so many different things on the shelves. We deal in all kinds of small items and decorative pieces that people like to collect. The shop has been here for a long time, and it has that old building smell, a mix of wood and dust. We spend a lot of our time dusting the items because they sit on the shelves for a while. There isn't a lot of room to move around, especially when we get a new shipment in and the boxes are sitting in the middle of the floor. We use old-fashioned ledgers to keep track of what we have. The lighting isn't the best, so some corners are a bit dark and mysterious. Customers usually spend a lot of time just looking around at everything. We don't bother them much, just let them browse until they have a question. The New Market area is always buzzing with people, so we hear the shouts of vendors and the sound of footsteps all day long. It's a small, cluttered place, but that’s just how it is. We have a small stool behind the counter where we sit when things are quiet. It’s a slow-paced kind of shop compared to the rest of the market, and we like it that way. We usually wrap things in old newspaper when people buy them from us.
