New Dipanjali Saloon

Our shop, New Dipanjali Saloon, is found at 82/38/A on M N K Road. We are right in the Baranagar area of Kolkata. It’s a busy street and we’ve been part of it for a good amount of time. The shop is a basic setup for anyone needing a haircut or a clean shave. We aren't trying to be one of those expensive places you see in the malls. We are for the workers and the families who live around M N K Road. Inside, it’s just a few chairs and the sound of the radio playing in the background. We have some regular customers who have been coming here since they were kids. It’s nice to see the same faces every month. The space is a bit narrow, so it can get crowded on Saturday afternoons. We just ask people to wait their turn on the bench. There’s no fancy booking system here. You just walk in and wait. My hands are usually busy from morning until night, especially during the festival seasons. Baranagar is a crowded place, and we are just happy to have our little corner here. We don't spend money on fancy signs or lights. The work speaks for itself, I suppose. People know where we are and they know we will do a decent job without any trouble. That’s how we keep the doors open. We just stay busy.
