National Pipe Fittings Store is on the ground floor at 40, Strand Road. If you know the area near the river, you know how busy it gets with all the trading and the people walking by. Our shop is quite easy to find since we are right on the street level. Inside, the space is filled with pipes and every kind of fitting you can think of. We have shelves that go all the way to the ceiling, and sometimes it takes a bit of climbing to find the right part. It is a bit of an old-fashioned store. We still do a lot of things by hand and we know where every little screw and joint is kept without needing a computer to tell us. The air from the river makes the shop a bit humid, but we are used to it. We get all kinds of people coming in, from plumbers to homeowners who are trying to fix a leak. We don't have a polished way of speaking or any promotional slogans. We just find the part you need and give it to you. Strand Road has a lot of history and we feel like a small part of it. We keep our doors open and just get on with the day. It’s a messy, busy, and honest way to make a living, and we’ve been doing it at number 40 for a long time now.
