Our office is at 18A Kustia Masjid Bari Lane in the Tiljala area of Kolkata. It is a bit tucked away, so you have to look for the sign when you turn into the lane. Tiljala is a crowded and lively place to work. We are a small group of people working here every day on real estate matters. The office itself is quite simple. We have a few computers and a lot of maps pinned to the walls so we can keep track of different areas. It is not a corporate setup with glass walls or anything like that. It feels more like a home office. We spend most of our mornings checking updates and then the afternoons are usually for visiting sites or meeting people. Sometimes the lane gets very busy with rickshaws and people walking by, which makes it feel very much like a part of the local community. We do our best to keep everything organized, but with so many property papers and files, it can get a bit messy on the desks. We have been here for a while and the neighbors know us. If you come by, you will likely find us drinking tea and discussing the latest land prices or building rules. It is just a regular local business trying to do honest work in the neighborhood. We don’t have any big titles, we just do what needs doing to keep the office running.
