Working near Airport Gate No. 1 in Dum Dum means we hear planes taking off almost every hour. M/S Manoj Kumar Singh & Co. is right on Jessore Road, in the Rajbari area, which is always busy with cars and people rushing to catch flights. It’s a noisy place to be, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. Our office is in an old building that has seen better days, but it’s solid and keeps the rain out. We don’t have fancy carpets or modern lights, just the same furniture we’ve had since we opened. There’s a lot of walking back and forth between the different rooms to find files. The traffic on Jessore Road can be a nightmare in the evenings, so we usually try to finish up before the peak hour hits. Most of the people who come here are locals or business folks who have been dealing with us for a long time. We don't spend much time on fancy presentations or marketing. We just sit at our desks, handle the paperwork, and talk to whoever walks through the door. It’s a lot of manual work, checking lists and making sure the numbers add up. Rajbari is a tight-knit place, and we’re just glad to be part of the daily grind here in this corner of Dum Dum. Sometimes we stay late when there is a lot of work to catch up on. It's just us.
