Mousumi Saloon

Over at 124A Bidhan Sarani, you’ll find Mousumi Saloon. This is an old part of Kolkata, and our shop fits right in with the surrounding buildings. The address is easy to find because we are right on the main stretch of Bidhan Sarani. It’s a narrow shop, typical for this area. We have high ceilings and some old-fashioned wooden cabinets. The chairs are heavy and have been fixed up many times over the years. We see all kinds of people here, from students to retirees. The street outside is always bustling with trams and buses, and the noise filters inside. We don’t have fancy air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that hum all day. It gets quite warm in the summer months. We keep a water jar in the corner for anyone who is thirsty. The floor is old stone and has been worn smooth by years of people walking on it. We aren't trying to be the most modern place in town. We just provide a place for a decent haircut at a price people can afford. Sometimes we have to close early if there’s a local event or a power cut. It’s just how life is in this part of the city. We take things as they come. If you’re passing by Bidhan Sarani, you’ll see our small sign hanging out front. We’ve been here for decades and hope to stay for many more.
