Mita'S Boutique

Mita'S Boutique is located in the Aparajita Building, specifically at No. 2 E. We are at 98 Jodhpur Park, which is pretty close to the local post office. If you are familiar with the Jodhpur Park area, you probably know the building. It’s a nice neighborhood to be in. We have been here for a while now, working with different fabrics and designs. The shop is small and we try to keep it organized, though with all the cloth it's not always easy. We mostly do work for the people living nearby. They come in for alterations or to see if we have anything new that fits them. We don't have a big website or a lot of fancy signs. Most people find us by just walking past or hearing about us from a neighbor. It’s a simple way to run a business. We spend our mornings cutting fabric and our afternoons talking to customers. Sometimes we have tea while we work. The light in the shop is good in the morning, which helps with the sewing. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in Kolkata. We just like having our own space here near the post office. It’s a steady job and we know the faces of the people who walk by every day. It feels right. We don't mind the long hours because it's our own thing. We just keep at it and hope for a busy week every time we unlock the door.
