Minerals And Metals

Our office is located on the 3rd floor of the 64B building, which is in Block-D of New Alipore. It’s not a shop where you walk in and browse shelves. Instead, we have a few rooms where we manage the trading of minerals and metals. We’ve been in this New Alipore spot for a while now. The lift in our building is quite old and sometimes it doesn't work, so we have to walk up the three flights of stairs, which keeps us fit I suppose. Inside, the walls are lined with old filing cabinets full of paperwork. We spend a lot of our time talking on the telephone to suppliers and transport guys. It’s not very exciting work, but it’s what we do. We have a small window that looks out over the street, and we watch the traffic in Block-D when we take a break. We keep a kettle in the corner for making tea throughout the day. The desks are usually covered in loose papers and samples of different ores. We don't have any corporate branding or sleek furniture. It’s just a bunch of wooden tables and chairs. We try to stay organized, but sometimes the paperwork piles up when we get a lot of orders at once. New Alipore is a good place to be, even if it gets a bit crowded during the rush hour. We just focus on getting the shipments coordinated and making sure the numbers match up.
