International Minerals

If you head down Netaji Subhas Road, you’ll find us in one of those older tall buildings. We are way up on the 9th floor at 33/1. It’s a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, which happens once in a while. International Minerals has been operating out of this space for some time. Being up so high gives us a bit of a view of the city, though mostly it’s just other rooftops and the smog. The office isn't anything special to look at. We have some samples of rocks and minerals sitting on shelves, mostly just to keep track of what we are dealing with. The dust gets everywhere, no matter how much we clean. It’s a busy part of town, lots of banking and trading happening all around us. We spend most of our time on the phone or looking at ledger books. It’s not glamorous work, but it’s what we know. We handle the bulk stuff, getting minerals from one place to another for the factories. Sometimes the paperwork gets backed up, but we catch up eventually. The building has that old smell, a mix of paper and stone. We keep a small staff here, just enough to handle the calls and the billing. It’s just a regular office doing regular things in a crowded part of Kolkata. Nothing more, nothing less.
