Metal & Minerals Testing Laboratory

The lab is at No.30/A on Narasingha Dutta Road. It is a bit quieter on this street compared to the main industrial hubs. This is actually good for the kind of careful work we do every day. We have all our testing equipment set up on long wooden benches. It is mostly metal and mineral samples that come through the front door. They usually arrive in small bags or plastic boxes. We spend the day looking at things under microscopes. We put them through various machines to see exactly what they are made of. The air inside the lab always smells a bit like chemicals and cold metal. We have to keep everything very organized. My personal desk is still usually covered in half-finished reports and scrap paper. It is not a very big space, but we have managed to make it work for us. The street outside has some nice old trees. You can hear the birds sometimes when the local traffic dies down in the afternoon. We take the work seriously, but we are not very formal people. We wear our lab coats mostly to keep our regular clothes from getting ruined by the dust. People bring us bits of rock or scraps of iron. We tell them the truth about what is in them. It is slow, careful work. The hours go by pretty fast when you are busy. We have been on this road for a long time now.
