Megha Hair Dressing

Megha Hair Dressing is situated in Belgachia, specifically on Khudiram Bose Sarani. It’s a very busy part of Kolkata, right near the metro and the bridge. There is always a lot of dust and noise from the buses going past. Our shop is just a small unit on the ground floor. We have a big glass window in the front, but we usually keep it covered with some old curtains to keep the glare out. Inside, it’s a bit cramped. We have three chairs lined up, and when they’re all full, there’s hardly any room to move around. We started this business because there were always people needing a trim in Belgachia. The floor is tiled, but a few of them are cracked. We don't really notice it anymore. The towels we use are clean, though they might be a bit frayed at the edges. We don't have any fancy air conditioning, just a couple of wall fans that push the warm air around. People from the nearby apartments come here, along with some of the workers from the local shops. We talk about the local news or whatever is happening on the street. It’s a basic place for basic needs. We don't try to impress anyone with decorations. We keep a small plastic stool outside for when it gets too crowded inside. We just do the work and hope the customers come back next month.
