Our place is located in Koyla Vihar, right on VIP Road. It’s pretty easy to find if you look for the Mahindra Showroom nearby. We spend a lot of time here every day. Most of us take the bus or an auto to get to work because the traffic on this side of Kolkata is something else. The shop stays open late because people in this area work long hours. We see a lot of people coming in after they finish their shifts or on their way back home. The walls are a simple color and we try to keep things organized so we can find our supplies quickly. It’s not a big corporate office, just a small business where we handle things ourselves. We talk about the weather or the local news while we work. The Mahindra showroom helps people describe where we are when they’re talking on the phone. Sometimes we go out to grab tea from the stall nearby when it’s a bit quiet. We’ve seen the neighborhood grow quite a bit over the years. VIP Road is always full of cars and the noise never really stops. Inside the shop, we just keep our heads down and do the work. We clean the mirrors every morning and make sure the chairs are comfortable enough for anyone who sits down. It is a straightforward kind of place where we just do our daily tasks.
