Maya Hair Cutting Salon

Down in Chandiberia, near the Power House, you’ll see our small shop. Maya Hair Cutting Salon is where most of the guys around here come for a shave or a quick cut. It’s a small place, just a couple of chairs and some old mirrors, but it does the job. We’ve been here in this part of Kolkata for a long time. You can hear the hum of the city outside all day. We don’t have an air conditioner, just a big ceiling fan that keeps the air moving. It’s a place where you can sit, have a chat about the local news, and get your hair sorted. We don’t do anything too fancy, just standard cuts and maybe a head massage if we’re not too busy. Most of our customers are neighbors who have been coming since they were kids. Now they bring their own sons here. It’s nice to see the generations pass through. The shop is simple and we keep it as clean as we can. We use standard scissors and razors. Nothing high-tech. If you’re looking for a quick trim without the high prices of the big city salons, we’re right here by the power house. We’re usually open seven days a week unless something comes up. It’s just honest work for honest people in the community. Sometimes it gets dusty, but that's just life here.
