Magic Foot Wear

Magic Foot Wear is tucked away at No. 28 Rabindra Sarani. It’s a busy street and there’s always something happening outside. We sell shoes and sandals, mostly basic styles for walking around. The shop floor is a bit worn out from all the feet coming in and out. We keep the boxes stacked high up to the ceiling because there isn't much floor space. Sometimes I have to use a rickety ladder to reach the top shelf when someone wants a specific size. It can get a bit sweaty in here during the summer months since the air doesn't move much. We’ve got a couple of benches where people can sit and try things on. Some customers take a long time to decide, which is fine as long as they don't block the door. We don’t do any big advertising or anything like that. People just see the shoes in the window and walk in. Often, we’re busy fixing a strap or helping someone find a comfortable fit. The street noise is constant, but you get used to it after a while. My cousin used to work here with me but now it’s mostly just me and one other lad. We open around ten and stay until the street gets quiet at night. It’s just a regular shoe shop, nothing more and nothing less. We just keep going every day.
