Maa Tara Minerals

Our office for Maa Tara Minerals is at No. 40 in the Neelambar Vihar Complex on Dumdum Road. It’s a busy part of the city, and the traffic noise from Dumdum Road is something we’ve just gotten used to over the years. The complex itself has a lot of different businesses, so there’s always someone coming or going in the hallways. Inside our space, we have stacks of mineral samples and a lot of files that seem to grow every month. It’s not the most organized place in the world, but we know where everything is. The light in the office is a bit dim because of how the windows are positioned, so we always have the overhead lights on. We spend a lot of time coordinating with the mines and the transport companies. It’s a lot of waiting for trucks and then a sudden rush of work when they finally show up at the site. We don’t really do much marketing or anything like that; we just focus on the people we’ve been working with for years. Someone usually brings in snacks in the afternoon, and we take a short break near the window to watch the buses go by. It’s a practical way to earn a living, and we enjoy the rhythm of the work. The walls are covered in some old maps and calendars that have been there forever.
