Durga Collection

We are located on the second floor at No. 3 Lord Sinha Road. Being upstairs means we don't get as many people just walking in off the street as the ground floor shops do, but that’s okay. Durga Collection has been in this building for a while now. You have to walk up the stairs, which can be a bit tiring if you’re not used to it, but once you’re here, it’s a bit quieter than the noise outside on Lord Sinha Road. We have our collections laid out on tables and hanging from the walls. The lighting isn't perfect, but it does the job. We spend a lot of our day just organizing things and making sure everything is in its place. Sometimes we just sit and talk when it’s slow. It’s a different vibe being on the second floor; it feels a bit more private. We get a lot of people who come specifically to see us because they’ve heard about us from someone else. We don't use any loud sales talk or anything like that. We just show the items and let people decide for themselves. It’s a simple way of doing business. The window looks out over the street and sometimes we just watch the cars go by while we wait for the next person to come up. It's a bit of a climb to get here but we're always here until closing time.
