Legato Exports

Legato Exports is tucked away on Justice Manmatha Mukherjee Row at number 18. If you aren't looking for the sign, you might walk right past the entrance. It’s one of those older buildings where the walls have seen a lot of history. Inside, it’s mostly just desks, stacks of paperwork, and boxes waiting to be taped up. We spend a lot of time on the phone or typing out emails to people in different time zones. Exporting is mostly about waiting and then suddenly having everything happen at once. We’ve got a small team here. Someone is always making tea in the corner, and the radio is usually playing something low in the background. The street outside is narrow, so when a delivery truck arrives, it blocks everything for a few minutes. Nobody seems to mind much, as that’s just how things are on this row. We don’t have a big corporate lobby or anyone sitting at a front desk to greet people. Usually, you just walk in and find someone at their computer. We’ve been operating from this spot for quite some time now. The wooden floors creak when you walk across them, and we have to keep the windows closed when it rains so the documents don't get damp. It’s a simple setup, but it suits what we do. We just keep track of the shipments and make sure things get to where they are supposed to go.
