Lartisan"

We’ve been tucked away on the second floor of 20 Mott Lane for a good while now. If you’re looking for us, you have to head up the stairs past the first landing, and it’s right there. The space isn’t very big, but it fits what we do. At Lartisan, most days start pretty early. Someone usually puts the kettle on before the sun is even fully up over the buildings across the street. We spend a lot of time just working with our hands. There is usually sawdust or bits of scrap material on the floor by noon, no matter how much we try to sweep. It's a bit of a climb up those stairs every morning, especially when we’re carrying supplies, but we’ve gotten used to it. The windows don’t always open quite right, so it can get a bit stuffy in the summer months, but it’s our space. We aren't a huge corporation with fancy lobby areas or anything like that. It’s just a few of us here trying to get things right. Sometimes we sit around the old wooden table in the back to figure out a problem with a project. We don’t have big meetings or anything, just conversations. People in the building know us as the ones who stay late. It’s quiet up on the second floor after the shops downstairs close up, which is when we often get our best work done. Just normal folks doing what we know how to do.
