Lapunzel

Lapunzel is located at 25 Dum Dum Park, which is a nice part of Kolkata to be in. We are right by the post office, so we see the mail vans and people coming and going all day long. The park nearby makes the air feel a bit fresher than the middle of the city. Our shop has been here for a good amount of time and the locals know the spot well. It is a ground floor space which makes it easy for the older ladies to walk in without worrying about stairs. We have a few stations set up with mirrors that have seen better days, but they do the job. The walls are painted a simple light color to make the room feel bigger than it actually is. During the puja season, this whole area gets very crowded and we end up staying open much later than usual. My staff and I usually share a tiffin in the back room when things quiet down in the afternoon. We don't have any corporate rules or uniforms, we just wear what is comfortable for a long day of standing. Most of our customers come for a simple hair wash or a trim. We keep a stack of old magazines on the table for people to look at. It is a steady business and we are happy to be part of the Dum Dum Park community.
