Lap Cure Clinic

Lap Cure Clinic is situated at 107/1 on Karaya Road, right across from the Bangladesh High Commission in Circus Avenue. It is a very central location, so there is always a lot of traffic and people walking by. Being near the High Commission means there is often a lot of security and activity on the street. Our clinic is on a busy floor and we have a small reception area where people check in. We mostly focus on laparoscopic procedures, so we have a small operating room and a few beds for recovery. The space is a bit tight, especially when family members come along with the patients. We have some old posters about health on the walls that have faded over the years. The windows look out over the street, so you can hear the buses and the street vendors all day. Sometimes the water cooler in the corner makes a loud glugging sound that startles people. The staff here is small—just a couple of nurses and the administrative person who handles the files. We keep our records in big metal cabinets that squeak when you open them. We have been at this Circus Avenue spot for several years now. It is not a fancy medical center with marble floors; it is just a practical clinic where we do our jobs. People find us because of the location and because we have been here so long.
