Laha Paint Stores is tucked away at 4, Ramesh Mitra Road. If you know where Purna Cinema is, you’re basically there. We’ve been sitting here for a long time, surrounded by cans of every color you can imagine. The smell of paint is just something we've grown used to over the years. It’s a narrow street, so things can get a bit cramped when deliveries arrive, but we make it work. Customers come in looking to freshen up their homes or maybe just a single room. We spend a lot of time opening lids and showing people how a color looks under the light. It's funny how much time you can spend talking about different shades of white or blue. The shop isn't modern by any means. It’s got old shelves and a floor that’s seen its share of spills. But it has character, I think. We know the regulars who come in every few months for their supplies. Being near the cinema means there’s always people walking by, which keeps the day interesting. Sometimes we stand at the door just to watch the crowd during the evening shows. We don’t do anything fancy here, just sell paint and brushes to anyone who needs them. It’s a steady life on Ramesh Mitra Road, and we’re happy to be part of the local neighborhood fabric. It’s just how we run things day in and day out.
