We’ve been at 57/2 Ekdalia Road for a while now. Most people know the spot because it’s so close to the Ekdalia Evergreen Club in Ballygunj. It’s a busy area, especially during Puja season, but we’re here year-round doing our work. Krishnashish Handloom And Handicraft India Pvt Ltd isn’t a huge fancy showroom or a big corporate office. It’s just a place where we deal with traditional items and textiles. My family has been into handlooms for years, and we still follow the same ways. We get a lot of stuff from local weavers across the region. Sometimes the shop gets a bit crowded with rolls of cloth and different handicrafts piled up in the corners. It is not always perfectly organized, but we know exactly where everything is. If you’re walking down Ekdalia Road, you’ll find us easily enough. We aren't trying to be like a big mall or anything like that. We just like what we do. People come in looking for specific hand-woven pieces, and we try to help them find what they need without any fuss. Some days are slow, while other days we are busy packing boxes to send out to different places. The address is pretty straightforward once you reach the club area. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. We stay focused on the work here at the office. It’s a bit of a walk from the main crossing, but it is okay. We are just a local business.
