Kishore Saloon

Kishore Saloon is tucked away on the ground floor in the Mahesbatan area of Krishnapur. We are quite close to the Technoplaza Building, so a lot of people find us when they are walking to or from the office. It’s a busy little corner of Kolkata 700102. The shop isn't anything special to look at, just a few mirrors on the wall and the basic tools we need for cutting hair. We’ve been here for a couple of years now. Before this, I worked at a different shop but I like having my own place even if it is small. We do shaves and haircuts all day long. The lights can be a bit dim in the back but we make it work. Most of our customers are locals who live in the nearby apartments. They come in once a month or so. We don't have a fancy menu of services. If you want a haircut, we do it. If you want a shave, we do that too. Sometimes the water pressure is a bit low, so we keep buckets ready for hair washing. It’s just how things are here. We don't bother with marketing or anything like that. If people like what we do, they tell their friends. That’s how we’ve kept going. It's a simple business and we try to be fair with everyone who walks in. The rent is okay so we keep our prices very reasonable for everyone.
