King Sons Beauty Parlour

King Sons Beauty Parlour is situated at 57/3 on Sarat Bose Road. It’s a well-known street in Kolkata, and we are quite lucky to be near Trikon Park. The park is a good reference point for anyone trying to find the shop for the first time. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. Our shop isn't one of those modern, glass-fronted places you see in the malls. It’s more of a traditional local parlour where men and boys come to get their hair cut or a shave. We have the old-style chairs that have been with us for a long time. They are still comfortable though. The walls have a few pictures on them, and we usually have the radio playing in the background or the news on a small TV. It’s a place where people talk about football or the weather while waiting their turn. We don't do appointments much; people just walk in and sit on the bench until a chair opens up. Sarat Bose Road can get noisy with all the yellow taxis and buses going past, but once you’re inside, it’s just the sound of the scissors and the clippers. We keep the razors sharp and the towels clean. That’s about it. We are just local workers trying to provide a decent service to the folks living around here. It's a simple business and we like it that way.
