Our place is located at 29-A, Rabindra Sarani. If you’ve ever walked down this street, you know it’s one of the busiest spots you could find in Kolkata. Khadim Shoe Pvt. Ltd. has been around this area for quite a while, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years. We focus on footwear, and our shop is usually full of boxes stacked right up to the ceiling. It can be a bit of a squeeze when there are a lot of customers inside at once, especially on the weekends. We don’t spend much on fancy decorations; we’d rather just have plenty of stock so people can find what they need in their size. The floor is a bit worn down from all the footsteps, but that just shows how many people come through here. We have a small group of workers who’ve been here since they were young, and they know the stock inside out. Sometimes the lights flicker a bit when the heavy trams go by outside, but we don't mind it much. It’s just part of being in this part of town. We try to keep things simple and honest. We aren't trying to be the most modern shop on the block; we just want to provide shoes that people can actually use. Most of our regulars are local families who have been buying from us for generations. We just open up every morning and wait to see who walks in through the door.
