Kesh Shilpi Hair Cutting is located at 124A Bidhan Sarani in Kolkata. This is a very old and famous street in the 700004 area and we have been a part of it for many years. The building we are in is quite old and has that classic North Kolkata look to it. Our shop is small and sits right on the main road so there is constant traffic passing by from morning until night. We see everything from old hand-pulled rickshaws to the latest cars going past our door. Inside the shop things are much slower and simpler. We have the traditional heavy barber chairs and large mirrors that reflect the street outside. We don't use any modern gadgets or fancy electric tools if we can help it. Most of our work is done with just scissors and a steady hand. The men who come here are usually locals who have been living in the Bidhan Sarani area for generations. They like that we don't change things too much and that the shop feels the same as it did years ago. It is a place where you can take a break from the busy street and just relax for twenty minutes while you get your hair done. We don't have a big sign or any promotional posters on the walls. Just the tools of the trade and a place for people to sit. It is a humble way to serve the community in this historic part of the city.
