Kesh Karu

Kesh Karu is our small shop at P-1, C I T Road in Kankurgachi. We are right in the middle of everything in Kolkata 700054. It’s a busy corner of the city, and we’ve been part of it for a long time. The name Kesh Karu sounds a bit traditional, and that’s basically how we run things. We do hair work for the local crowd who doesn't want to travel too far. Our space is functional, with the usual setup of mirrors and sinks. It’s not a high-end place, just a local spot for a haircut or a shave. We see a lot of office workers and people living in the nearby blocks. Sometimes the tea stall next door brings over snacks while we work. It’s that kind of environment where everyone knows everyone else. We don’t have a website or anything like that; people just know where to find us. The floor gets covered in hair by mid-afternoon, and we’re constantly sweeping. It’s honest work and we enjoy the daily interactions. Every morning we roll up the shutters and get to it. There’s a certain rhythm to the day on C I T Road that we’ve become very accustomed to over the years. We keep the prices fair and the scissors sharp. It's just what we do here day in and day out without any big fuss. It works for us and it works for the folks living around here who just need to get their hair sorted out.
