We are way up on the 8th floor of the building at 2/6central Plaza, in Room No 807. We’re located right on Sarat Bose Rd, which is also called Lala Lajpat Rai Sarani. Kajaria Ceramics Pvt. Ltd. is the name we go by. Being on the 8th floor gives us a bit of a view, but mostly we are just looking at piles of tile samples. We deal with ceramics of all kinds. People come in looking for floors or walls, and we show them what we’ve got. It’s actually a lot of physical work even though we’re in an office, because we have to carry those sample boards around for customers. The elevator in this building is pretty slow, so we spend a lot of time waiting. Our team is small, just a few of us handling the sales and the logistics. We aren't trying to be the biggest or the most polished office in town. We just want to make sure the tiles get delivered without breaking. That happens more than you would think, so we spend a lot of time on the phone with the warehouse. It gets pretty frantic when a big order comes in. We don't have any fancy mission statements or anything like that. We just sell tiles and try to keep things moving so people can finish their renovations. It’s a steady job in a busy part of Kolkata, and we have been at it for a while now.
