Jitendra Saloon

Jitendra Saloon is located in Kankurgachi, right on the busy VIP Road. Being on such a major road in Kolkata means we see a lot of people every single day. The traffic is constant, and you can always hear the horns honking outside. Our shop is tucked into a row of other small businesses. It’s not very large, but we make the best of the space we have. Plastic chairs are set out for anyone who needs to wait their turn. The lighting is a bit yellow and dim, but it’s enough to see what we’re doing. We’ve got a bunch of different scissors and clippers that we’ve collected over the years. Some work better than others. We don't have any big signs or advertisements. People mostly find us because they live nearby or they’re walking to the bus stop. The afternoons can get pretty slow, so we usually sit by the door and watch the cars go by. We keep a small calendar on the wall to mark the days. It’s a steady job, and we like being part of the Kankurgachi community. We don't offer anything special, just the usual services you’d expect from a local salon. We try to be honest with our work and treat everyone who walks in with a bit of respect.
