It’s a bit of a landmark for folks who need stone for their floors or walls. We keep a pretty big stock of marble and granite right here on the property. Dealing with these materials isn't easy work, your back definitely feels it at the end of the day. But we enjoy seeing the different colors that come in from the quarries. Every piece of marble looks a bit different, which is the interesting part of the job. We aren't a big corporation with people in suits. We are just local workers who know how to handle stone. The shop is usually open early because the morning is the best time to move the heavy stuff before it gets too hot outside. People stop by when they’re passing the hospital or walking through Tiljala. We show them what we have in the yard, and they pick what fits their house. It’s straightforward. We don’t use any high-pressure sales tactics because the stone speaks for itself. Sometimes the phones are ringing and the saws are loud, but we always find a minute to talk to whoever walks in.
