Jayguru Har Cutting Saloon

We are located over at Helabattala, Hatiara, right in that busy stretch of Kolkata 700157. This shop, Jayguru Har Cutting Saloon, isn't anything too fancy to look at from the outside, but it stays busy enough. I spend most of my day here with the clippers and the combs. The area around Hela Bat Tala is always moving, so there is plenty to see through the front window while we work. We have a few old chairs that have been around for a long time, and the floor usually has a bit of hair on it because we’re busy moving from one person to the next. It’s a simple life running a shop like this. You get to know all the people in the neighborhood, their kids growing up, and the stories they tell. We don't have a big sign or any bright lights. Most people just know we are here because they live nearby or walk past on their way to the market. On hot afternoons, the ceiling fan just pushes the warm air around, but nobody seems to mind much. We keep the water spray bottles full and the razors sharp. It’s just about getting the work done and making sure people look a bit neater when they walk out than when they walked in. We open up in the morning and stay until it’s dark. That’s how it goes every day at this spot.
