Jawed Habib Hair Expreso

We are down on the ground floor on Vivekananda Road. If you know where Beadon Street is, you’ll find us pretty easily. We are right near the Ashirbad Nursing Home, which is a good landmark if you’re coming from a different part of town. This Jawed Habib Hair Expreso is just a small shop where we do hair. It’s in the 700006 area of Kolkata. It’s a noisy street outside, but inside we just focus on the scissors and the clippers. We don’t have a lot of staff, just a few of us who know how to handle different hair types. We see all kinds of people, from kids to older folks who have lived in Beadon Street their whole lives. It’s not a fancy lounge or anything like that. Just a place with decent lighting and sharp tools. We keep the floor swept and the towels clean. Sometimes we have a bit of a wait because people just drop in without calling, but usually, it’s not too long. We like being on the ground floor because we can see what's happening on the street. It feels like we’re really part of the neighborhood here. No big marketing plans, just showing up every morning and opening the shutters. That's how we do things here on Vivekananda Road. It's a simple life for us here.
