Institute Of Hotel & Restaurant Management

Down here at Sonargaon Park, things are usually a bit loud because of all the students. We are the Institute Of Hotel & Restaurant Management, located right in the Tegharia Sonarpur area. If you walk past our building near the P.O. Ramkrishnapally, you can usually smell whatever is being cooked in the practical kitchens. It is a lot of hard work keeping everything running. We have young people coming in early every morning to learn how to set tables or bake bread. It’s not like those fancy schools you see on TV; it’s a lot of scrubbing floors and polishing glasses until they shine. The staff here has been around for a long time. We know the local area well. Sometimes the rain makes the commute to Sonarpur a bit of a mess, but the students still show up. We have classrooms that have seen a lot of use over the years. We don't spend much on fancy decorations because we’d rather have better pans and ovens for the kitchen. It’s a practical place. We focus on showing people how the job actually works in a real restaurant or a hotel. There is always someone cleaning something or prepping for the next day's lessons. It’s just a normal school doing its thing every day. Most of us have been here for years and we like it that way.
