Our address is 90/A Taltala Lane, right in the middle of Kolkata. It’s a neighborhood that never really seems to sleep. We’ve been operating out of this spot for years, and it’s seen a lot of changes. The building itself is quite sturdy, but it has that lived-in look that you only get with time. We deal with all sorts of things throughout the day, from managing the rooms to making sure the basic stuff is working like it should. It’s not always glamorous work. Sometimes a pipe leaks or a light goes out and we have to fix it right away. The staff here are good people, mostly folks who have been in the city their whole lives. We don't really do the polished corporate talk. If you come in, you’ll just see us working, maybe having a quick lunch at our desks. The lane outside is narrow and can get pretty crowded with bikes and pedestrians, but that’s just part of the charm of Taltala. We’ve got a rhythm here that works for us. Even when things get hectic during the festival seasons, we just keep going. We don't have any big mission statements on the walls. We just want to make sure the building is running and the work gets finished before we lock up for the night. It’s a simple, honest way to run a business. We try to keep it as straightforward as possible for everyone here.
