Inox Beauty Parlor

We are located at 157 Vivekananda Road, right near the Shitala Mondir. This part of Kolkata is always full of life, especially with the temple being so close by. Inox Beauty Parlor is a place where local women come to get their hair done or maybe some threading. It’s a modest setup with a few chairs and some curtains for privacy. You can often hear the temple bells ringing while we are working, which is actually quite nice. The shop is run by a few of us who have lived in this area for a long time. We don't use any of those high-end machines you see in big malls. We just use our hands and basic tools like combs and rollers. Most of the ladies who come here are friends or neighbors who have been visiting us for years. They come in to get ready for a wedding or just for their regular maintenance. We keep a stack of old magazines on the table, but mostly people just like to chat about their families and what they are cooking for dinner. The floor is tiled and we try to keep it shining. It’s a small business and we put in a lot of hours to keep it going. Sometimes we stay open a bit later if a customer is running late. It’s just about being there for the community and doing our daily work.
