Id Bg Hospital

You can find us over in Beliaghata at the Id Bg Hospital. We are situated right by the ICMR Virus Unit, which is a pretty well-known landmark in this part of Kolkata. The whole site is often just called the ID & GV Hospital by the people who live around here. It’s a large campus with several different buildings, and some of them have been standing for a very long time. Because of that, the hallways have that old look and the ceilings are quite high. It’s a very busy place to work. There are always people moving through the corridors, and the sound of the city outside never really stops. We spend our days going from one unit to another. It gets incredibly humid in the summer months, so the ceiling fans are always humming in the background. Our team is made up of people who have been working in Beliaghata for years. We know how the system works here and how to get things done without much fuss. The hospital is more about function than anything else. There aren't many decorations on the walls, just the signs telling people where to go. We deal with a lot of different cases every day, and it can be tiring, but it's the job we chose. We just try to keep the patient records straight and make sure everyone gets seen in the order they arrived. It’s a big, lived-in institution that serves a lot of people every single day.
