Hindustan Hair Cutting Saloon is right across from the Narkeldanga Post Office. Being on Narkeldanga Main Road means we get a lot of foot traffic all day long. The shop at number 39 has been here through many changes in the neighborhood. It is a place where you can just sit down and get your hair cut without any fuss. We aren't interested in being a fancy parlor. We are just a regular saloon for regular people. The space inside isn't huge, but we make it work. Usually, there is a bit of a queue in the evenings when everyone gets off work. We see a lot of familiar faces every day. Some people have been coming here for twenty years or more. It’s nice to know everyone’s name. We talk about sports, the weather, and the price of things these days. Our chairs are old but they are still sturdy. The address is 700011, right in the heart of the area. Sometimes the traffic outside is loud, but we are used to it by now. We just focus on the task at hand. There aren't any big decorations or anything special. Just a clock on the wall and the tools we use every day. We open early so workers can get a quick trim before their shift starts. It’s a busy life, but we like being part of Narkeldanga. Most guys just come for a shave.
