Haripada Dutta & Co

We have been running things here at Haripada Dutta & Co for quite a long time now. Our shop is located right beside Raja Katra at 2, Mahasree Debendra Road in the Burrabazar area. If you have ever been to Burrabazar, you know how crowded and noisy it gets with all the trucks and people moving about. It is a very old part of the city and our building shows its age, but we like it that way. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. It is just a simple place where we keep our stock and do our daily paperwork. Sometimes the dust from the street gets inside and we have to clean the desks every few hours. My father used to sit here before me, and not much has changed since then. We keep a lot of different items in the back and sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what a person is looking for because we have so many boxes. We don't really do any big advertising or have a fancy website. Most people just find us because they have been coming here for years or they heard about us from a neighbor. We open up early and stay until the evening. It is hard work but it is what we know how to do. We don't try to be something we are not. We just run our business day by day and try to keep things moving along.
