Our place is at P-90 Nani Gopal Roy Choudhry Avenue, right on C.I.T. Road. It is a busy area and there is always something going on outside. We work on handmade fashion items here. Most days are spent cutting fabric or sewing different pieces together. It’s a lot of manual work. We don't use big automated machines for everything. There are needles, threads, and scraps of cloth all over the tables by the time we finish in the evening. The light in the front room is good for seeing the small details. Sometimes we stay late when there is a lot to finish. Being on C.I.T. Road means we see a lot of people passing by. It’s a bit of a walk from the main crossing but not too far. We’ve set up the space so everyone has a spot to sit and work. It isn't a huge operation. We just like making clothes that feel a bit more personal than the stuff you find in big stores. The shelves are packed with different materials we've collected over time. Sometimes it takes a while to find exactly what we need for a specific design. We have tea together in the afternoons and talk about what needs to be done next. It’s a simple routine. We just focus on making things one at a time and keeping the shop running. We are glad to be part of the neighborhood.
