Gulshan Palace Hotel

Our hotel is situated at 42B on Mirza Ghalib Street which is right in the middle of everything in Kolkata. We are directly across from the BRTC building so most people find us without much trouble. Being so close to Park Street means it is always noisy outside and there are people walking by at all hours. We have been here for a good number of years now. The building is older and has that typical Kolkata character with narrow hallways and high ceilings. We offer rooms to travelers who need a place to sleep without paying those high prices you see at the big chains. It is a family-run operation mostly. We handle the check-ins at the front desk and try to make sure the linens are changed regularly. Sometimes the elevator acts up or the water pressure is a bit low in the mornings but we do our best to get things fixed. Many of our guests are regulars who come to the city for business or shopping. We don't have a fancy lobby or a gym. It’s just a place to stay while you explore the city. The area around Mirza Ghalib St has plenty of small shops and places to eat so our guests usually find whatever they need within walking distance. We keep our keys on a big rack behind the desk and someone is usually there if you need anything at night. We just ask people to be quiet in the corridors so others can sleep.
