Guiness Securities Limited is tucked away at 10 Pratap Ghosh Lane in Kolkata. If you’ve ever walked down these lanes in the 700007 area, you know they have a lot of history and character. Our office is part of that. It’s a bit of an older building, which we actually like because it feels solid. We do a lot of work with securities and numbers, so having a quiet place to sit and think is important. It’s not the kind of office with glass walls and modern art. It’s more about stacks of papers, old desks, and a lot of tea being drunk throughout the day. The lane can be quite narrow, so getting there can be a bit of a squeeze if there’s a delivery truck, but it’s all part of the charm of working in this part of Kolkata. We’ve been here long enough that we know all the local shopkeepers. People come in and out, and there’s always a bit of conversation going on. We handle a lot of different things every day, and it keeps us pretty busy from morning till evening. We don’t really go for anything flashy. We just stay focused on the work we have to do for the people who rely on us. It’s a honest living and we’re happy to be doing it right here on Pratap Ghosh Lane.
