Saluza Exports

Our spot is over on Grant Lane, right near Lal Bazar in Kolkata. Saluza Exports is on the 1st floor of building 2B. Grant Lane is a pretty tight squeeze, especially when there are deliveries coming in or going out. Being so close to Lal Bazar means there is never a quiet moment. You can hear the market shouting and the traffic all day long. The office is fairly simple with some old desks and plenty of shelving for all the items we handle. We spend a lot of our time checking over export papers and making sure the boxes are taped up properly. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, so we usually have the windows open to get some air from the street. We don’t have a big team of people or any fancy marketing stuff. It’s just a few of us making sure the goods get to where they are supposed to go. Sometimes the rain makes things difficult because the lane gets muddy and moving heavy crates becomes a real chore. We’ve been at this address for a long time now and we know all the local guys who help with the loading. It’s a busy, somewhat messy way to work, but it suits us fine. We just focus on the lists of orders and the shipping schedules, making sure we don't miss anything important before we lock up for the night.
