Glamour & Glitz

Glamour & Glitz is located on the ground floor along Basunagar Road in Madhyamgram. We are pretty close to the local swimming pool, so a lot of people use that as a landmark to find us. Despite the name, we aren't a high-end boutique. We’re just a local salon where people come to get cleaned up. The shop has a tiled floor and some bright lights so we can see what we’re doing. We have a few different chairs for different services. Sometimes it’s just one of us working, and other times there are two. It depends on the day of the week. Saturday is usually our longest day because everyone wants to look good for Sunday. The area around here is growing, but we still feel like a small-town shop. We have a small sink for washing hair that sometimes drains a bit slow. There’s a bench out front where people sit and talk when the weather is nice. We get a mix of young guys and older men. The street outside can get quite noisy with bikes and rickshaws. We don't spend much time worrying about decorations. We just make sure the tools are clean and the towels are dry. It’s a straightforward business. We open up in the morning, sweep the floor, and wait for the first customer to walk through the door. That's our daily routine here in Kolkata 700129.
