Girnar Exports

Our office is at number 6, Waterloo Street. It is an old building and it has that specific smell of old paper and dust. We have been running Girnar Exports from here for a long time. There are a lot of stairs to climb and the lift does not always work like it should. We spend most of our time on the phone or filling out piles of paperwork for shipments. It is not very exciting work, but it is what we do to get by. The desks are cluttered with files and old coffee mugs. We do not have a receptionist or anything like that. When the phone rings, whoever is closest just picks it up. Outside on Waterloo Street, it is always busy with people heading to other offices or grabbing lunch. We usually just bring our tiffins from home and eat at our desks while we work. Sometimes we go downstairs for a quick break if the weather is not too hot. We deal with a lot of different people from all over, but we are just a small group here in this one room. The windows do not open very well, so it gets a bit stuffy in the afternoons. We just keep track of the boxes and make sure the names on the labels are correct. It is straightforward work and we do not try to make it seem like more than it is. We just stay here until the daily work is finished.
