We are over at 1B, Apurba Mitra Road, in Flat-2B. This is right in the Kalighat area, which is always busy and full of life. Our office is just a regular flat that we’ve converted into a workspace. It’s got that old Calcutta charm, I suppose, with the high ceilings and the way the light comes in through the shutters. We handle real estate around south Kolkata, mostly. It involves a lot of walking around and talking to long-time residents. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just rely on being here every day and knowing the local streets. If you come by, you’ll probably find one of us on the phone or looking through a thick stack of blueprinted plans. It can get a bit dusty with all the old papers, but that’s just how it is. We aren't trying to change the world; we’re just helping people buy or sell their properties without too much trouble. Sometimes we get stuck in traffic trying to get to a site visit, which is just part of living here. We drink a lot of tea and try to stay on top of the local regulations. It’s a small team, and we’ve worked together for a long time. People know they can find us here if they have a question about a house or an old lease. We keep things pretty informal but we make sure the work gets done eventually.
