Ganapathi Exporters

Down at 149, B-Block in Lake Town, that’s where you’ll find Ganapathi Exporters. It is a bit of a crowded area, so parking is always a headache for anyone visiting. Inside, it’s mostly just boxes and more boxes. We handle a lot of shipping, so there is always the sound of tape dispensers clicking and someone shouting about a late truck. I started working here because I lived nearby and it just stuck. We don’t have a fancy showroom or shiny floors. It’s more of a place where people wear comfortable shoes because you’re on your feet most of the day. The tea here is always too sweet, but it keeps us going in the afternoons. Dealing with exports means there is a lot of paperwork to fill out, and sometimes the forms get confusing, but we manage. We aren’t trying to be the biggest company out there; we just want to get the orders sent out without any mistakes. Every now and then, the power goes out and we just sit around and talk until it comes back on. It is a simple way of working. Most of our neighbors know us by name now. It gets hot in the summer, but we have a couple of fans that do the job well enough. We just show up, do the packing, and go home.
