Fancy Hair Cutting

Fancy Hair Cutting is the name, but we are a very simple shop in Dakshineswar. We are located on T N Biswas Road, which is a busy area because of all the people coming and going. The shop isn't actually "fancy" at all, which is kind of funny. It is just a small room with some old chairs and a lot of combs. We have been here for years, serving the people who live in this part of Kolkata. The street outside is always noisy with rickshaws and people talking. Inside, we just focus on the hair. We do a lot of shaves too. The walls have some old pictures and a calendar. We use a lot of talcum powder, so the shop always smells like that. It is a very normal place. We don't have air conditioning, so we keep the door open to get a breeze from the road. Sometimes the dust comes in too, but we just wipe the counters. The regulars come in every couple of weeks. They don't even have to say what they want anymore. We just know. It is a comfortable routine. We aren't trying to win any prizes. We just want to do a decent job so people come back next time. The sink is a bit stained and the floor is worn down where we stand, but that just shows how much work we do. It’s just us, doing our thing on T N Biswas Road.
