Estern Hardware Mart

If you head down to Canning Street, or B. R. B. Basu Road as some call it, you’ll find us on the first floor of 135a. It’s a crowded area with a lot of hardware shops, so you have to look for the right door among the signs. We’ve got shelves full of tools, bolts, and all sorts of metal bits. It smells like oil and iron in here, which I guess is expected for a hardware mart. We don’t have a lot of space, so things are stacked pretty high toward the ceiling. Sometimes it takes us a minute to find exactly what a customer is looking for in the back. We’ve been around this part of town for a long time and know most of the regulars by name. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, but people don’t seem to mind once they get used to it. We aren't big on fancy displays or bright lights. We just have what people need for their repairs or construction jobs. The street outside is always a chaotic mess of carts, trucks, and people, but that’s just how it is here every day. We stay busy with the local contractors and the occasional person who just needs a few screws or a new wrench. It’s an honest way to make a living. We just keep the shop open, handle the inventory, and help out whoever walks through the door during the day.
