Eesah Fisheries Private Limited is tucked away on Muktaram Babu Street at number 94. We are right in the middle of Kolkata’s bustle. Md Salman Ahmad is the person in charge here. If you know this street, you know how crowded it gets with all the shops and people moving around. Our space isn't very large, but we make it work for the fishery business. It’s a bit different running a fish-related company in such a built-up area. We have to be quick with our movements. Most of the time, the floor is a bit wet and there’s a faint smell of the river, depending on what came in that morning. It’s a noisy place, with the traffic from Muktaram Babu Street always in the background. We don’t have a fancy lobby or any of that corporate stuff. It’s just an office where Md Salman Ahmad and the rest of us handle the orders and talk to the suppliers. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking the crates as they arrive. It’s a fast-paced environment because fish doesn't stay fresh forever. We’ve had some long nights when the shipments are late, just waiting around and drinking tea until the truck finally shows up. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. We are just a local Kolkata business trying to stay on top of the daily grind and keep the fish moving through the city.
